Clinical Attachments

Last updated: 12 April 2011

Many IMGs find it useful to have a clinical attachment and it is recommended they undertake one after PLAB 1 and whilst preparing for PLAB 2 exam or after they have completed PLAB. The Deanery is unable to arrange these and they have to be organised directly by the doctor. This can be done by approaching the Human Resources Department and/or the Postgraduate Centre Manager of individual hospital trusts. A good starting point would be to make enquiries at hospitals local to where you live.

For contact details of all the NHS Trusts in the UK refer to the NHS Directory.

You may also wish to refer to the BMA's Clinical Attachment Guidelines.
