Developing people for health and healthcare

Last updated: 20 October 2010

During the final year, the programme is tailored to suit the consultant aspirations of the trainee. In general it is spent in the other Teaching Centre to ST 3 and 4. This year includes longer modules of higher training in targeted sub-specialties, frequently up to 6 months, if requested at earlier ARCPs.

Out of Programme Experience (OOPE)

OOPE aspirations are discussed at the ARCP meetings. Trainees need to be post FRCA, which means in our training programme that in general six to 12 months are taken out of ST 5 or 6. If OOPE is outside the UK, trainees must be back in this country for six months prior to the award of the CCT.
