Foundation e-Portfolio, e-Learning & Assessment
Last updated: 29 July 2013
The Foundation Learning Portfolio has been developed to allow you to plan your professional and personal development, to document your progress through the foundation programme, and allow you to demonstrate through evidence the attainment of knowledge, skills and attitudes. It is based on the Foundation Programme Curriculum, which sets out the areas of medical practice that you will need to cover, and the standards that will be expected of you.
It will provide you with a structure to plan your development through your foundation training, and form the basis of a life-long record of your professional development.
- You have a professional responsibility to demonstrate that you are fit to practice, and the Foundation Learning Portfolio will help you to demonstrate your ongoing professional development
- Your portfolio may be used as part of the selection process for specialty training
- It is your responsibility to ensure that your portfolio is up to date and contains the evidence demonstrating your achievements
In August 2013, the East Anglian Foundation School will be continuing the use of the Foundation e-portfolio. The eportfolio will provide a secure and transferable personal record of a trainee's educational and personal development, and can be accessed over the web anytime and anywhere. It incorporates the assessment tools for assessing and monitoring the performance of foundation doctors.
